i am completely head over heels in love with mariachi bands. i was lucky to attend a baptism this weekend. i am learning there is no such thing as a "small party" in mexico.
ok. so this week has been busy with a special side project. monday morning luisa walked in my bedroom and said, "we have to help haiti." i responded, "yeah, lets do it!" after not getting anythere with the local university who (was a bit stubborn) told luisa they had enough help, we decided to take matters into our own hands.
what started out as just a table in the park with hand written signs, in 1 day we had exploded into a full donation drive, with proper banners, a speaker with dance music and an overwhelming amount of donators to make all the local news channels and the national news in mexico!
we have extended our drive to this weekend. join our facebook group, "Yo Amo Haiti" for all the info and photos!
if you know me, you know my burrito obsession. but i have been itching to be exposed to the world of authentic mexican cuisine. all my dreams are coming true! goditas, chilaquiles, enchiladas, enfrijoladas, albondigas. . .
oh, and yes, there is another food group in mexico; HOT SAUCE. they have this stuff on EVERYTHING. in the salad dressings, on fruit, and even in drinks. like this one.
